9T Class names in word art

Kia ora everyone yesterday in our 9T English class the students took a break from practicing their speeches and instead they all created word art posters. Still keeping focus on their speeches they had to list some of the key words within their speechs and transfer them onto their word art posters. This also reinforces their practice and memorizing of the speech that they will be assessed on next week.  Here is an example of the poster, and I have used all of our students names. If you want to learn how to create a word art poster go to wordart.com and have a go, it's a lot of fun.

English Learning

Tena koutou, welcome to our 9T blog page, and now that we are up and running I would like to share some of the work we are doing in our English class. We are now into week 8 and already the students have completed a unit of work called Getting to Know You, which looks at the students backrounds, their aspirations and goals for the year, a person that they admire and challenges that they may face throughout this year. Students are now working on their two minute speeches which have a range of topics such as, an issue at school or in the community, someone they admire or determination creates success. Here is a snap shot of the site that students go to for all their learning in this subject.

If you would like to see what the students in our class will be learning in English this year, go to the College website, click on Curriculum, click on English, find my site Whaea Annette's website open it up and it is all there for you to see. Nga mihi nui
